Isuzu Trooper Recall
In a recall conducted on April 28, 2004, 72,905 1992-1995 Isuzu Troopers were
shown to have sticking accelerators after gas pedal is released. As what NHTSA
said, the engine may not respond specially if speed is
decreased. The sticking accelerator cable can cause the accelerator throttle
cable to delay RPM and vehicle speed reduction for several seconds after the accelerator
pedal is released, which in turn, can lead to a crash. So far there are no recorded
incidents in connection with the defect. The solution is to replace the throttle
cable rubber boot.
Fuel leak is the defect for 2000 Isuzu Trooper S 4-Dr as shown in a manufacturer's
recall of a duly recognized company. Interior fuel line can separate in cases
of high-speed frontal crash which may cause fuel leakage. Intolerable leakage
may in turn lead to fire. The corrective action taken is to install new fuel system
shields.
