2000 Isuzu Trooper

Major changes in style, performance and features are done for 2000 Isuzu Trooper.
Safety features are added as response to the evaluation conducted by the Insurance
Institute for Highway Safety. From the series of tests, fuel leaks are evident.
Failure of the fuel supply connection is the defect for the first test while a
torn fuel hose between the firewall and transmission housing still lead to greater
fuel leakage on the second test. On the third test, fuel leakage was minimized
by having several fixes.
S, LS and Limited are the three sporty trim levels for 2000 available in four
wheel-drive and two-wheel drive versions. Featured for four-wheel drive versions
is the Torque-On-Demand System. Standard for all is a four-speed automatic transmission
except for the base Trooper S which comes with the standard five-speed manual
transmission. Power source comes from a 3.5-liter double overhead-cam V6 engine
rated at 215 horsepower. Full support is given by the standard dual front airbags,
independent front and multi-link rear suspension with anti-lock four-wheel disc
brakes for responsive steering and top-notch performance.
